Factors Influencing Willingness to Use Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis among Male Homosexuals at the SWOP Clinic

Abstract: Introduction The main aim of this study was to assess the factors influencing acceptance and willingness of using pre exposure prophylaxis, Materials and Methods The study was a cross sectional study and data collection was carried out using standardized questionnaires involving a sample size of 196 individuals and three focus group discussions, Results This study through the regression and correlation models suggests that acceptance and willingness of using pre-exposure prophylaxis depends on awareness on methods of preventing HIV/AIDS and stigma, Conclusion to optimize uptake of this intervention this two variables should be emphasized by the implementing PrEp programs.
