Video Technology as an Aid for Stimulation: An Insight

Abstract: Communication disorder is impairment in the ability to receive, send, process, and comprehend verbal, nonverbal and graphic symbol systems. Counselling is an integral clinical responsibility for families with children and adult who have acquired such disorders. Technology has the potential to benefit individuals with communication disorder throughout their lifespan. One of the innovative ways for intensive speech and language stimulation is use of video technology. Hence there is a need to understand the technological advancement in achieving the success for persons with disability. Study design guided the parents to use the video technology as a stimulatory aid. Results revealed that there is a progress in the targets through video modelling, enhanced the knowledge of the parents about the method of teaching the child. Thus it can be concluded that this research will help the speech language pathologist, to enhance knowledge about the technological advancements which can serve the persons with disability.
