Abstract: The period from 1947 to 1975 was a watershed movement in the history of Kashmir?s economic development, particularly in the agriculture sector. Post-Independence reforms spearheaded by visionary policies, dismantled oppressive feudal structure, redistributing land and empowering small farmers. This era witnessed a paradigm shift as traditional practices gave way to innovation driven farming, characterized by the introduction of mechanization, hybrid seeds, chemicals and advanced irrigation systems.
