The Use of Homonymy in Iraqi Colloquial Poetry

Abstract: This study is mainly concerned with the use of homonymy in Iraqi colloquial poetry as one of the technique in writing or spoken prose and verse. villagers in Iraq use this kind of arts to find their pleasure in talking after a hard day working in their farms. . I use my knowledge as Iraqi linguistic student to investigate homonym in English and Arabic Iraqi colloquial poetry and compare between the two languages. To the best of my knowledge this study has not been tackled yet, therefore, the present study is an attempt to fill such a gap.
