Optical Solitons Simulation Using DSF and Optical Pulse Generator in Single Mode Optical Fiber

Subi S | Lakshmi G B

Abstract: Optical Solitons are the special breed of wave packets which can propagate over long distance without changing in its shape and velocity. Effective transmission distance could be increased by proper circuit designing and balancing Group velocity dispersion (GVD) with its counterpart Self phase modulation (SPM). This paper illustrates the generation of conventional soliton using DSF, the design and analysis of Dispersion Managed Soliton from 9000 km to 18000 km using Erbium doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) and dispersion compensating fibers (DCF).
