A Historic Rejection of Rejection - The Villuvandi Yathra of Mahatma Ayyankali

Abstract: Ayyankali was a social revolutionary who made independent struggles against caste system. These struggles mainly focused for attaining social freedom for the vast masses. Villuvandi yathra of Ayyankali in 1893, rejected all the rejections which was imposed by the savarnas. Through this he demanded a space in the public sphere.
