Lexical Density and Readability of Students Writing

Abstract: This research aims to analyses the lexical density and readability of writing by post graduate students from department of English Yadanabon University Myanmar and find the connection between lexical density and readability of the written texts. In this study qualitative method was used. A total number of 19 essays were used as data. For the analysis Lexical Density Formula by Ure. J. (1971) is used. For the analysis of readability Flesch Reading Ease Formula was used. The finding shows that readability does not depends on lexical density.
