Abstract: Punctuation is a visible device with different shapes contrived to present written texts in a form that is both understandable and easy to read. Punctuation in English is a group of marks that guide the reader through his eyes to the main units in the text like the phrase, the sentence, or the paragraph. It also shows him the kind of connection between them, so that meaning will be arrived at without delay or confusion. The current study investigates English Punctuation Marks: importance, purposes, and types. Moreover, each mark has been explained to understand its usage.
