Embracing Humanism in the Age of Digitalization: A Call for Ethical Engagement
Bhat Imtiyaz Ahmad
Abstract: In an era characterized by swift scientific advancements, the amalgamation of digitalization into various aspects of human life is inevitable. However, amidst the allure of effectiveness and expediency that technology promises, it is imperative not to overlook the fundamental principles of humanism. This article explores the intersection of humanism and digitalization, advocating for an ethical approach that prioritizes human values, dignity, and well - being. By examining the implications of digitalization on society, economy, and culture, this research aims to foster a deeper understanding of how technology can serve as a tool for human empowerment rather than a force of dehumanization. Through critical analysis and case studies, we highlight the importance of incorporating humanistic principles into the design, implementation, and regulation of digital technologies. Ultimately, this article seeks to inspire scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to engage in meaningful discourse and action to ensure that digitalization aligns with the core tenets of humanism.
