Estimation of Phytoconstituents in Leaf Extract of Morus AlbaL

Abstract: Estimation of Phytoconstituents in leaf extract of Morus Alba L. Sabira Mushtaq1 and Shail Bala Sanghi2 Govt. M. L. B. P. G Girls. College Bhopal (M. P. ) India. Leaves of Morus alba L. are quite evident from the literatures surveyed that these plants possess antibacterial, and antioxidant activity and therefore the extracts of these herbs alone or in combination may have the potential to treat many disease in an effective manner without exhibiting side effect or toxicity as indicated by synthetic molecules. The aim of our study is to provide scientific evidence concerned to the medicinal values of this herb. In this study, the ethanolic extract of leaves from Morus alba L. , a traditional Chinese medicine, was evaluated for their Phytochemical analysis. Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of phenols, flavonoids, alkaloids, and proteins in the extract, Ethanolic extracts showed higher contents of both total phenolics and flavonoids.
