A Study to Assess the Knowledge of Mothers of under Five Children Regarding Burn and its Prevention in Selected Rural Area

Abstract: Burns are common and serious childhood injuries causing prolonged effect on growing child with various complication and fatal prognosis. Approximatelyone fourth of burn cases are below 10 years of age and about 65 % of burnt children are below 5 years og age.80 % burns occurs in the childs own home. It is very important to look into safety and security of children at homes. This will promote sound psychosocial development of children. Safety and security can be ensured by providing clean safe and comfortable physical environment.
