Dr. Vinita Kedia, Dr. Hanslata Gehlot
Abstract: AIM: To study the maternal and fetal outcomes in oligohydramnios of term pregnancy. MATERIAL AND METHODS – This was a prospective case control study.100 patients were recruited which divided into equal two groups according to inclusion and exclusion criterias after completed 37 weeks of gestations, compare for their outcomes. RESULTS- There was significant difference between two groups in occurrence of outcomes. It was associated with post dated pregnancy (46 %) so labor induction was more in this groups (42 % in cases vs 32 % in control group). Meconium stained liquor was more common in study group so nonreactive NST, fetal distress, low birth weight, operative delivery, low APGAR score, NICU admission was comparatively more in case groups. CONCLUSION – Isolated oligohydramnios in the absence of any other complicating factors was associated with need for operative delivery intervention and adversely effects the fetal outcome, when compared to non oigohydramnios group.
