Abstract: Statement of the Problem: A study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding plotting of partograph among staff nurses working in maternity units of Ananta Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre Hospital, at Udaipur city. Objectives of the study: 1. To assess the pre test knowledge scores regarding plotting of partograph among staff nurses working in maternity units of Ananta institute of medical science and research centre, at Udaipur city.2. To assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme by assessing post test knowledge scores regarding plotting of partograph among staff nurses working in maternity units of Ananta institute of medical science and research centre, , at Udaipur city.3. To find the association between pre test knowledge scores with the selected demographic variables regarding plotting of partograph among staff nurses working in maternity units of Ananta institute of medical science and research centre, , at Udaipur city. Methods: One group pre-test and post-test design with pre – experimental design was used to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on partograph among staff nurses working in maternity units of Ananta institute of medical science and research centre, at Udaipur city. With regard to the pre-test knowledge assessment, the mean was 7.33 and mean percentage was 29.32 percent and SD was 2.287. In post-test significant increase in knowledge was found. However the mean percentage of knowledge score had improved from 29.32 percent in pre-test to 90.80 percent in post-test. In the present study, the knowledge scores of staff nurses were found to be significant with the demographic variables that is age group, educational qualification, clinical experience, previous source of information and in service programme attended. Hence it indicates that there is association between the knowledge scores of nurses and selected demographic variables.
