Dynamic School Libraries; Activities to Foster Library Skills

Abstract: This paper attempts to bring out the importance of learning activities conducted in School Libraries in the overall progress of students. A school library as strong pillars supports the pursuit of excellence and wholesome development of students. A survey has been conducted among School Librarians all over India to analyse the awareness about such activities during their library instructions. The variety and pattern of activities done also was studied. Although it is comparatively a new concept for school libraries in India, the learning activities in libraries give students an opportunity to review, remake and tinker, and thereby widening the horizons of their creativity. Such blended learning environs give School Libraries a more prominent role in the knowledge and skill building process.
