A Descriptive Study to Assess the Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Higher Education among Nursing Students in Selected Nursing College, Meerut

Abstract: Statement of the Problem: ?A descriptive study to assess the knowledge and attitude regarding higher education among nursing students in selected colleges, Meerut ?. Objectives: 1) To assess the knowledge and attitude regarding higher education among nursing students. 2) To find out the association between the level of knowledge and attitude regarding higher education among nursing students with their selected socio demographic variables. Methodology: A Quantitative research approach and descriptive research design was used in this study. Sample size comprised of 80 undergraduate and postgraduate students and the sample was selected by random sampling technique. Self structured questionnaires used to collect the data. The gathered data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result: The findings show that out of total 80 samples 16 (20%) were having poor knowledge and attitude, 43 (53.7%) were having average knowledge and attitude, 21 (26.2%) were having good knowledge and attitude regarding higher education. The chi square test shows that there was significant association between knowledge and attitude score with their selected socio demographic variables regarding higher education among the course of study of the individual. Conclusion: The study revealed that the undergraduate students were having average Knowledge and Attitude regarding Higher Education. There was a significant association between knowledge and attitude score with their course of study.
