Future of Interacting with Computers and Large Language Models

Abstract: This article explores the evolution and implications of Large Language Models LLMs in the field of artificial intelligence, particularly focusing on the revolutionary ChatGPT. LLMs, with their immense parameter capacity and ability to process various data modalities, have the potential to reshape human existence and interaction. However, ethical concerns loom large, including the challenge of distinguishing reliable information from misinformation in an era of fake news and the need to align LLM behavior with human values. Utilitarianism emerges as a potential ethical framework for guiding the development and deployment of LLMs. The article emphasizes the importance of thorough risk assessment and the involvement of authoritative bodies in shaping the future of LLM technology. Despite these challenges, ongoing developments, such as specialized vertical applications and reinforcement learning, offer promising solutions and indicate a bright future for LLMs in the AI landscape.
