Flow Cytometry and Annexin V Marking Results

Ceren Gonen

Abstract: Prostate cancer is an androgen-dependent cancer that initially develops. In this context, the first protocol of treatment consists of androgen deprivation therapy. Initially, cells that respond well to this treatment gain resistance after a while and begin to grow independently of androgen. The effects of androgens are mediated by the androgen receptor (AR). Therefore, studies focus on identification of AR regulated genes that are also highly expressed in the prostate. STAMP family genes STAMP1/ STEAP2 and STAMP2/STEAP4 are only expressed in androgen receptor positive cells Flow cytometer was used and annex in V signal were taken per sample.
