Abstract: This essay is an attempt to study corruption as a serious governance challenge which is found present in one way or another in almost all societies regardless of the variations in their social, economic or political status. It aims to conceptualize some relevant responses or measures to combat corruption with regard to the role of states, civic society and concerned international organizations.
