The Impact of the Sugar Industry on Socio - Economic Transformation in Rahuri Tehsil

Abstract: This research paper investigates the impact of the sugar industry on the socio - economic transformation of Rahuri Tehsil, Maharashtra, India. The study analyzes the industry's role in employment generation, rural development, and infrastructural improvements. Through a combination of primary and secondary data collection, the paper quantifies the positive effects of the sugar industry on agricultural income, infrastructure development, and social development. While acknowledging the challenges faced by the industry, the research concludes that the sugar industry has been a significant driver of socio - economic change in Rahuri Tehsil, contributing to poverty reduction, improved livelihoods, and overall development.
