These microfluidic devices simulate human organ functions, allowing for more accurate disease modeling and drug screening while reducing reliance on animal testing. The article explores the engineering principles behind OoCs, their applications in pharmaceutical research and personalized medicine, and their potential to revolutionize clinical trials. Despite challenges in standardization, scalability, and regulatory approval, ongoing advancements in AI integration and bioprinting signal a promising future for this technology in precision medicine and drug development.
