Trans-Disciplinary Approach in Dalit Literature: Its Challenges and Opportunities

Abstract: This paper explores the application of a trans - disciplinary approach in the study of Dalit literature, aiming to understand the challenges and opportunities it presents. The paper seeks to investigate the unique perspectives and experiences portrayed in Dalit literature and analyses the implications of integrating multiple disciplines, such as sociology, cultural studies, postcolonial studies, and literary theory, to deepen our understanding of Dalit narratives. The paper highlights the relevance of adopting a trans - disciplinary approach to comprehend the complex dynamics of Dalit experiences, identities, and socio - political contexts depicted in the literature. Drawing upon qualitative research methods and critical analysis, the study analyses selected works and authors in Dalit literature, focusing on themes of oppression, identity formation, and social transformation. The findings of this study reveal the challenges encountered when implementing a trans - disciplinary approach, such as reconciling different theoretical frameworks and methodologies, while also highlighting the opportunities it offers in bridging disciplinary gaps and providing a more comprehensive understanding of Dalit literature. This paper will contribute to the ongoing discourse on Dalit literature by underscoring the transformative potential of a trans - disciplinary approach in challenging dominant narratives, promoting social justice, and empowering marginalized communities.
