Abstract: Post larvae of Penaeus monodon were collected from cultured ponds in the coastal areas of northern Odisha in 2009. Length and weight measurements were taken every 30 days interval for the study of growth and length-weight relationship. The regression coefficient (r2) was calculated to be 0.980, 0.982 and 0.979 for males, females and pooled samples. From regression equation -b- values were traced for males (2.340), females (2.573) and pooled samples (2.454). The result demonstrated that lesser -b- values in all cases correspond to slender growth of the samples indicating allometric growth.
