Innovative Protocol for the Synthesis of Acridine Derivatives using Ionic Liquid
Sangita Makone, Shreyas Mahurkar
Abstract: Innovative protocol for the synthesis of acridine derivatives by reaction of dimedone, aromatic aldehyde and ammonium acetate is developed using ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium perchlorate ( [Bmim]ClO4). The method provides several advantages such as simple work up, environmental friendliness and excellent yields in short reaction time. The ionic liquid [Bmim]ClO4 used was recovered and reused for three times.
