Dr. N. K. Sharma is a distinguished scholar with over 29 years of teaching experience, currently serving as the Head of the Department of Physics at Maharashtra College, Mumbai. His dedication to the field of physics is evident through his extensive work in electron microscopy, which earned him the Electron Microscopy award from the Japanese Society of Electron Microscopy in 1997. A recognized Ph.D. guide in physics, Dr. Sharma has trained numerous doctoral students, particularly in the field of electron microscopy. In addition to his teaching and mentoring roles, Dr. Sharma has contributed significantly to academic development. He was a key member of the Proposal Drafting Committee for the UM-DAE Centre for Excellence in Basics Science at the University of Mumbai and has been actively involved in revising the syllabus for both undergraduate courses and a five-year integrated physics program at the University of Mumbai. He is also a life member of the Electron Microscopy Society of India, affiliated with the International Federation of Societies for Electron Microscopy. Dr. Sharma's expertise extends to the characterization of materials using advanced techniques such as TEM, SEM, EDS, WDS, and XRD. He has also collaborated on research projects with prestigious institutions like IIT Bombay and has a number of publications in internationally reputed journals. Recognized for his expertise, he has been invited to deliver lectures and chair sessions at national and international conferences, and has served on various advisory and organizing committees for academic events.
