Prof. Suheli Mehta is a distinguished academic and leader with a rich career spanning over two decades in the field of Home Science. Currently serving as the Professor and Head of the Home Science Department at Patna University, she has made significant contributions to her field, particularly in Human Development. Prof. Mehta has guided numerous research scholars, with seven having completed their Ph.D. under her supervision and five more currently pursuing their doctoral studies. Her commitment to research is evident from her numerous publications in both national and international journals, alongside completing a UGC-sponsored research project focused on reproductive health and AIDS awareness among tribal adolescent girls in Jharkhand.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Prof. Mehta has held several key administrative roles. She has served as the NSS Program Coordinator at Patna University, IQAC Coordinator, Hostel Superintendent, and President of the Athletic Society at Magadh Mahila College. Her leadership extends beyond academia, having been elected as a Senate Member of Patna University and holding positions such as Vice President of the Bihar State Ball Badminton Association and General Secretary of the Indian Yoga Association, Bihar Chapter.
Prof. Mehta's dedication to education and service is further highlighted by her involvement in various professional bodies, including being a life member of the Indian Science Congress and the Home Science Association of India. Her editorial experience includes serving as an Associate Editor for the Patna University Journal, demonstrating her influence in academic publishing and commitment to advancing knowledge in her field.
