A Case Report on Female Genital Tuberculosis in a Teenage Girl
Abstract: Tuberculosis is an increasing public health concern world wide. It is one of the leading causes of infectious morbidity and mortality. The incidence of female genital tuberculosis, a type of extra-pulmonary tuberculosis is increasing in young women globally. Genital tuberculosis may be asymptomatic and require a high degree of suspicion and often goes undetected. It has a wide range of clinical presentation and may result in infertility. However, early detection and treatment may reduce the damage. Although it is a common presentation in women of reproductive age group, its occurrence in teenage girls is quite rare.
